OUR MISSION STATEMENT
To inform, challenge, and entertain Sequoyah and the wider community, with media productions covering ideas and events, on campus and beyond.
Affiliation with Sequoyah School
Although the media produced for The Barefoot Times is largely created in a classroom environment and sponsored by Sequoyah School, the opinions and messages expressed by journalists at The Barefoot Times are not necessarily the same as those held by Sequoyah School.

Corrections
At The Barefoot Times, we try our best to report the most up-to-date and accurate information. In the event of a mistake or inaccuracy, The Barefoot Times will immediately correct and update the article, and a correction time and reason will be added to the end of the corrected article.
Journalistic Ethics
Reporters at The Barefoot Times have been adequately briefed and are expected to follow The Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics.
Interview Policies
Interviewers are expected to make expectations of interviewee clear in either written or in-person dialogue. These expectations include but are not limited to:

For a statement to be considered off the record, the interviewee must state beforehand that the statement is off the record.
It is up to the interviewer to ask for clarifications and additions to interviews; these may take place in writing or in-person.
Interviewers will fact-check statements made by interviewees.
Entire drafts or large sections of articles will never be shared with interviewees or those outside of the editing process of The Barefoot Times.
